Mariah Carey - Angels Cry ft. Ne-Yo

Angel Cry Lyrics

Mariah:
I shouldn't have walked away
I would've stayed if you said
We could've made everything OK
But we just
Threw the blame back and forth
We treated love like a sport
The final blow hit so low
I'm still on the ground

I couldn't have prepared myself for this fall
Shattered in pieces curled on the floor
Super natural love conquers all
'Member we used to touch the sky
And

Lightning don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
True love's a gift
We let it drift
In a storm
Every night
I feel the angels cry

C'mon babe can't our love be revived
Bring it back and we gon' make it right
I'm on the edge just tryin' to survive
As the angels cry

Ne-Yo:
I thought we'd be forever and always
You were serenity
You took away the bad days
Didn't always treat you right
But it was OK
I do somethin' stupid
And you still stay with me

But you can only go for so long
Doing the one you claim to love wrong
Before too much is enough
You look up
Find your love gone
And

We were so good together
How come we could not weather
This storm and just do better
Why did we say goodbye

'Cause lightning don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
True love's a gift
We let it drift
Now every night
I feel the angels cry

Mariah & Ne-Yo:
C'mon babe can't our love be revived
Bring it back and we gon' make it right
I'm on the edge just tryin' to survive
As the angels cry

Baby I'm missin' you
Don't allow love to lose
We gotta ride it through
I'm reaching for you

Baby I'm missin' you
Don't allow love to lose
We gotta ride it through
I'm reaching for you

Lightning don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
True love's a gift
But we let it slip
In a storm
Every night
I feel the angels cry

Oh babe, the angels cry

Destiny's Child - Girl

"Girl"

[Verse 1 Beyonce]
Take A Minute Girl Come Sit Down
And Tell Us What's Been Happening
In Your Face I Can See The Pain
Don't You Try To Convince Us That You're Happy (Yeah)
We've Seen This All Before
But He's Taking Advantage Of Your Passion
Because We've Come Too Far
For You To Feel Alone
You Don't Let Him Walk Over Your Heart
I'm Telling You

[Chorus]
Girl, I Can Tell You've Been Crying
And You Needing Somebody To Talk To
Girl, I Can Tell He's Been Lying
And Pretending That He's Faithful And He Loves You
Girl, You Don't Have To Be Hiding
Don't You Be Ashamed To Say He Hurt You
I'm Your Girl, You're My Girl, We're Your Girls
Don't You Know That We Love You?

[Verse 2 Kelly]
See What You All Don't Know About Him
Is I Can't Let Him Go Because He Needs Me
It Ain't Really Him It's Stress From His Job
And I Ain't Making It Easy
I Know You See Him Bugging On Me Sometimes
But I Know Deep Inside He Don't Mean It
It Gets Hard Sometimes
But I Need My Man
I Don't Think You all Understand
I'm Telling You

[Chorus x2]

[Bridge Michelle]
Girl, Take A Good Look At Yourself
He Got You Going Through Hell
We Ain't Never Seen You Down Like This
What You Mean You Don't Need Us To Help?
We Known Each Other Too Well

[Chorus]

[Beyonce:]
Girl I've been knowin' you since you were ten,
you cannot hide from your friends

[Chorus]

(DEDICATED FOR MY GIRL FRIENDS)

Social and Economic Factors
In Romeo and Juliet, the main character, Montague and Capulet families are come from high class family. It can be seen by the way they dressed. And we can see how big Capulet family held a ball. The people looked so religious, seen by their intimacy with the friar and the church or cell took importance place in this story.

Character
- Romeo Montague : when we first time see this character, we will see the man who looks melancholic and doesn’t have enthusiasm. It is because the he didn’t get love from Rosaline (his first love). But when he met Juliet in the party, he fell in love with her at the first sight and he changed into dynamic and courageous. He would do anything in order to be with Juliet, even he knew it will risk his life because of between the Capulet and Montague families.

- Juliet Capulet : She is rebellious, kind, and loving. It can said that she is object of admiration. She kind of young girl who doesn’t get chance to make her own decision. She always follow the advice from others. She rarely does anything on her own but does what others say. She is loving in the passion and depth she falls for Romeo.

- Capulet: The head of major families in Verona. He is the father of Juliet. He always asks her daughter to do what he says. He demands Juliet to marry Paris. Capulet's role, however is much greater. First we see him as the wise and charismatic, charming man who prevents Tybalt fighting Romeo at his party and graciously talks with various guests.

- Montague: The head of Montague family. He is the father of Romeo. He never seen fight with Capulet, it only involve their servants, nephews and children.
- Escalus: The Prince of Verona who warned the families that further fighting between the two will be punished by death. Escalus is also responsible for banishing Romeo from Verona after Romeo killed Tybalt, an act of mercy on the Prince's part. At the end of the play when both Romeo and Juliet are dead, Escalus tells the two grieving families they are largely to blame for this tragedy.
- Mercutio: He is Romeo’s best friend and is killed by Tybalt. He is quarrelsome, loyal, and sarcastic.
- Tybalt : he is Juliet’s cousin. He has same character with Mercutio. He had failed to provoke Romeo into fighting, but dies when he finally fights Romeo.
- Nurse : she is folksy and humorous. She is like a mother for Juliet. She has taken care Juliet since the baby. She wants to do everything to makes Juliet happy. At the end after Tybalt's death, however, Nurse becomes less sympathetic and later when Capulet orders Juliet to marry Paris, she defends Juliet at first but later pragmatically suggests that Paris would not be so bad after all.
- Friar Laurance : He is a friend of Romeo who help Romeo marry Juliet with hopes that the marriage will end the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. He also plays role in the death of Romeo and Juliet.
- Paris : he is a noblemen who has willingness to marry Juliet, even though Juliet doesn’t love him, but he still loves her anyway. He was killed by Romeo in the Juliet’s tomb. He wished to lie down aside with Juliet’s body as in act V, scene III “O, I am slain! If thou be merciful, open the tomb, lay me with Juliet.”
- Lady Montague: she is Romeo’s mother, she loves her son and feel deeply sad when Romeo was sent to exile, she was died because can not help herself from grieves.
- Lady Capulet : she Juliet’s mother who is not looks like a mother to Juliet. She is not as close as nurse to Juliet. She support Capulet when he tries to make Juliet marry Paris. She hates Montague more since Tybalt was killed by Romeo.
- Sampson and Gregory: Servants to Capulet, these two men initially try to pick a fight with their opposites from the Montague family, Abraham and Balthasar in Act I, Scene I, establishing the feud that exists between Capulet and Montague families by showing that their mutual hatred even extends to their servants.

Theme
Love is the main theme in this story get along with the feud between Montague and Capulet family. The main characters; Romeo and Juliet will do everything they could to be together in the condition of feud of their family. The fate is also take part in this story, shows that we can’t always get what we want because we already have our own fate.
Point of View
This story written in third person objective, where the narrator does not participate in the action. The narrator only read the prologue to introduce the story to us about the feud in two families while there are the lovers between their children. The characters do not speak directly to the audience but often give soliloquies. Through the dialogues of the characters, Shakespeare’s ideas on love, family duty, and marriage are seen. Focus generally follows Romeo and sometimes other characters that affect Romeo.
The prologue : Two households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona, when we lay our scene. From ancient grudge break to new munity. Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes. A pair of star-crost lovers take their life; whose misadventured piteous overthrows. Doth with their death bury their parent’s strife……….
The Epilogue : a glooming peace this morning with it brings. The sun for sorrow will not show his head, for never was a story of more foe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
Figurative Language
Shakespeare uses some figurative language in this story. We can see the metaphor which compare lips to palm as in “And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss”
Symbolism
There are some symbols in this story such as: kiss is symbol of love, sword is symbol of fight, and the poison is symbol of death.
The symbol of love can be seen at scene 5 when Romeo take Juliet’s hand and says "If I profane with my unworthiest hand, this holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand. To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss."
Juliet is quickly swayed by Romeo's passion. Juliet,
"Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hands too much, Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss……….”Romeo kisses Juliet, then again.
In the prologue we can see
“Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean” means the feud makes the fight and died.
“A pair of star-crost lovers take their life;” means the couple who died in love sacrifice.
 Soliloquy is given by Romeo during the balcony scene. Juliet is up in the balcony and Romeo is speaking in just a voice that Juliet can not hear.” It is my lady…oh it is my love…oh.. o that she knew she were………”
 One of monologue given by Juliet in the balcony. She spoke to herself "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love and I'll no longer be a Capulet."
Other is before Juliet drinks the poison “Romeo, Romeo, Romeo! Here's drink. I drink to thee."
Other figurative language that are use in Romeo in Juliet is Allusion, Metaphor, Personification and Simile
 Allusion : referring to cupid’s arrow and also Dian and Aurora
Montague :”………the shady curtains from Aurora’s bed, away from light steals home my heavy son………”(Act I, Scene I)
Romeo :”well, in that you hit you miss, she’ll not be hit with Cupid’s arrow,- she hath Dian’s with…………”(Act I, Scene I)
 Metaphor : when lord Montague compares Romeo with the night (Act I, Scene I)
Montague :”……….shut up his windows, lock fair daylight out and make himself an artificial night…..”
When Romeo compares Juliet to the sun (Act II, Scene I)
“But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east and Juliet is the Sun..”
 Personification : when Romeo creates idea that woman is like moon (Act II, Scene I)
“Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief, that thou her maid art far more fair than she…”
 Simile : when Juliet tells Romeo how much she loves him ( (Act II, Scene I)
“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep, the more I give thee, the more I have for both infinite.”

Romeo and Juliet : Performance Analysis
Costume
The costume in Romeo and Juliet showed the costumes of the well known family on 13th – 15th century. The men wear tight pants (leggings) and it is colorful, and the women wear glamorous gown which cover almost their body. The women also wear something on their head as the accessories.
Player
In the first performance of Romeo and Juliet, Richard Burbage, the company's leading actor, who was in his mid-twenties, played Romeo. Juliet was played by Master Robert Goffe; young boy actors often played female roles because women did not legally appear on the stage until the late 17th century. And sometimes they look older than what it said in the script. For example, Juliet described as 14 years old girl, but sometime the cast looks older than that.
Stage
The first performance of the play was at the playhouse called the Theatre where Shakespeare and his company the Lord Chamberlain's Men were based until 1597. The Theatre was the first purpose-built playhouse in London and could hold over 1,500 people. It was a large, octagonal-shaped building with a thatched roof just around the perimeter so that the yard below was open air. Most of the audience, referred to as groundlings, paid a penny to stand in the yard surrounding the stage. Wealthier playgoers preferred to pay an extra penny to sit in one of the galleries so that they could watch the play in comfort and more importantly, be seen by the rest of the audience.

Elvis Costello - 'She' with the Liverpool Phil

She
May be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She
May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She
May be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell

She
Who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She
May be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember till the day I die

She
May be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough in ready years
Me
I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is

She
She, oh she

Book Review : A Child Called It

A child called it is a true story written by a man by the name of Dave. He is abused from the age of 4-12 and 12-18. He is tormented with unbelievable torture, humiliation, starvation, and verbal actions from his own mother.
He got severely abused and treated worse then people treat animals. His mother treats him like an "IT."
This is the first books of the trilogy. This is Dave’s story from age 4 – 12. In this book, the reader can possibly imagine about the torture that he got, and if you kind of sentimental person, you can shed your tears
